Our Mastini Here at Agrippina, our dogs are members of the family and we love them dearly. They have all been raised underfoot. Each dog here has been a challenge, but the rewards are amazing! However, the mastino is not a breed for everyone! They are not the right breed for a first time dog owner. If you don’t like a shadow that follows you from room to room, what we call a ‘Velcro dog,’ then consider another breed. If your home is always immaculate, consider another breed! They snore, sometimes loud enough to hear in another room, sometimes loud enough to hear on another floor in our home! They drool. Seen the movie Turner and Hooch? Ya, it’s like that sometimes. Mainly when they smell food, or are hot, or are drinking. The Neapolitan Mastiff is among the most loyal of canines! They love their people enough to die for them. Most are very protective. They should allow strangers into your home, if you so wish. The mastino is also very stubborn. They are very observant and don’t miss much. They truly understand their family members. Under all that skin and the tough looking exterior, the mastino is also a very sensitive dog. The mastini is NOT the dog for you if you have a million kids wandering in and out, or have ill behaved children. Can't control your kids?- you are probably NOT a good candidate for owning a molosser. This is a breed that needs to be respected, not harassed. In fact- mastini DEMAND respect.
